This year’s Miss World 2008 beauty pageant will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa in 13 December 2008. The 58th edition of Miss World beauty content was supposed to be held in Kiev, Ukraine, but the Miss World Organization later decided to change the venue because of the conflict between Georgia and Russia in neighboring South Ossetia.
So far, 104 delegates confirmed their participation in the upcoming event and there are few countries who are yet to confirm it. There are some countries including United States, Uruguay, Nepal, Vietnam, etc. who have not organized the national beauty competition yet. China’s Zhang Zilin is the title holder of Miss World 2007 and she will crown the winner of the Miss World 2008. Miss World is one of the two major beauty contests in the world and it has been taking place every year in several countries across the world since 1951.
