Julia Ormond, David Strathairn, and Catherine O'Hara will work in HBO's Temple Grandin project

Julia Ormond, David Strathairn, and Catherine O’Hara are going to work on an HBO biographical feature film, Temple Grandin. Temple Grandin is a famous professor at Colorado State University. She is the famous designer of humane slaughterhouses.


Actress Claire Danes will play the central character of the movie, Temple Grandin. Julia Ormond is going to play Grandin’s mother. David Strathairn will play the role of Grandin’s University science teacher and Catherine O’Hara will play the role of her aunt. Meritt Johnson and Christopher Monger wrote the screenplay and Mick Jackson is going to direct the movie.


Temple Grandin was born on August 29, 1947. At the age of two, she was diagnosed with brain damage and autistic at the age of three. Though she started talking at the age of four, she excelled in her studies. Later, Temple Grandin graduated from Franklin Pierce College majoring in Psychology. In 1989, she earned her PhD from the University of Illinois. Temple Grandin is one of the leading speakers on autism. Her first hand experience played a significant of her becoming an advocate for new treatment. She is also considered a leading expert in the field of livestock handling. In 2004, Temple Grandin won a “Proggy” award from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
