Yesterday, I watched Will Ferrell and Jon Heder’s Blades of Glory and to be honest it was funny and gay and last but not the least, incestuous. It tells the story of two accomplished rival ice skaters: Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder), who were facing lifetime bans. Three years later, a die-hard fan and stalker of Jimmy informs him of a loophole in the sports which bans him from men’s single but he can compete in pair. While searching for a female partner, Jimmy ended up with Chazz who was just fired from his job. Initially, they quarreled all the time but gradually they became friends and finally go to Winter Olympics. Overall, it was a funny movie. It made me laugh a lot but sometimes I got irritated a bit. Jimmy and Chazz’s overall physical appearance, their dress, hair style gave me a feeling that they are attracted to same sex person. Another thing that bothered me was the kissing scene between the brother and sister- Stranz and Fairchild. In real life, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler are married but they were playing the roles of brother and sister. I did not like the scene at all. The director could have made up something different. Anyway, it was a funny movie and good to watch.
