The Dark Knight crossed $400 million mark in USA

After eighteen days of its release, latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, has passed $400 million mark in USA and on its way to becoming one of the top grossing movies of all time. It broke Shrek 2’s record which collected $400 million in 43 days in 2004. Currently, the movie is at the 8^th position on the list of all-time-highest grossing movies.

According to famous movie statistical research firm, Exhibitor Relations Co. Inc., on August 4^th, the movie collected $6.3 million and crossed its $400 million mark. If everything goes right then today it will cross Spiderman and will rise to the 7^th position and by the end of the week the movie will whiz past Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (sixth place, $423 million), Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace (fifth place, $431 million) and probably E.T. (fourth place, $435 million).

Already, the ticket sales are slowing down but the movie will continue attract audience to the theatres. Many anticipated that The Dark Knight will cross Titanic’s $600 million mark but now it seems like that may not be possible. Still, director Christopher Nolan should be happy because his super hero has collected $600 million world wide.
