It looks like Shia Labeouf’s luck just ran out. The injury, he sustained from the July 27 car crush, is causing lot more trouble. Due to the injury, Shia had to withdraw from his upcoming movie, Dark Fields. A techno-thriller movie, Dark Fields, is based on Alan Glynn’s 2002 novel by the same name. Produced by the Universal Pictures, the movie is going to be directed by Neil Burger. Shia Labeouf was supposed to play the role of a young man who gets his hands on some ultimate smart pills. According to the reports of comingsoon.net, Shia was supposed to start shooting for the movie this winter. Already the production has been delayed and now Shia’s medical issues caused further disruption. Dark Fields was scheduled to release in 2010.
On July 27, 2008, Shia Labeouf had an accident on a West Hollywood street. As he was making a left turn with his Ford F-150 pick up truck, it collided with another vehicle and rolled over twice. Shia broke his two fingers and sustained minor injuries to his head and knee. Isable Lucas, who was riding with Shia that day, also had minor injuries. At the time of the accident, Shia was shooting for Transformers sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Producers of Transformers included his injury into the script. Immediately after the accident, Shia underwent an extensive surgery. To further repair his fingers, he would have to go through another surgery around his thumb.
Universal Studios is going to develop a new theme park ride based on its super hit movie, Transformers. The new ride will be installed at Resorts World at Sentosa. The park will open up in 2010 and the ride will debut at Universal Studios Singapore in 2011. It was jointly developed by UniversalParks and Resorts, Hasbro and Dreamworks Pictures. The Resorts World at Sentosa will pay the money to build this ride. The ride will fuse “3D-HD” media, special effects and robotics technology and it will show human beings caught in a war between Autobots and Decepticons. Universal Studios Singapore will house 24 rides and 18 of them are specifically designed for the theme park.
Tom Williams, Chairman and CEO, Universal Parks & Resorts said that Transformers would be a jewel in their collection of world-class rides based on great movies. Tan Hee Teck, CEO, Resorts World at Sentosa said:
“It is great that Asia will be the launch pad for the first Transformers attraction. Transformers was introduced to the United States in 1983 but traces its roots to Asia. Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron are familiar names to Asian audiences, who grew up with the robot toys and love the movie. When Transformers opens in Universal Studios Singapore in 2011, it will be the first of its kind in the world. We may see a surge of Transformers mania.”
Transformers, the live-action films based on the struggle of two robotic races grossed $706.5 million worldwide and became the highest grossing movie of 2007. Steven Spielberg was the executive producer of the movie. Transformers stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. The sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, will be released in June 2009.
Transformers star, Shia LaBeouf will not face DUI charges for the car accident on July 27. However, he will have to present at the California DMV hearing on September 26, 2008 for refusing to a blood-alcohol test. His driving license will be suspended for one year.
District Attorney spokesperson, Jane Robinson, said that after reviewing the case, they have decided to drop the charges against the twenty two year old actor on the ground of insufficient evidence. The Prosecutors will lodge criminal charges against, Herbert Simon, 21, the other driver who “run a red light.”
LaBeouf’s attorney Michael Norris said that they were very happy with the prosecutor’s decision. The whole thing will solve without Shia LaBeouf going to the court.

Another female driver involved in the accident also suffered minor injuries. After the accident, the injured people were taken to Cedars-SinaiMedicalCenter. Shia underwent surgery at the hospital. If his driving license were cancelled then he would face serious problems because in the upcoming Transformers sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Shia is required to drive cars.
